1852
Navy Officer's Sword, Inscribed ID to "Henry Allen"
Attractive Civil War Navy Officer's
sword with blade inscribed to Henry Allen. Records show that
Henry Allen served as an Acting Master from October 15th,
1861 until his Dismissal on January 13th, 1863. This sword
certainly invites further research. Shark skin grip is strong
and in excellent condition. Brass guard is just slightly loose.
The blade is unmarked with slight pitting and a few scattered
dark spots. The edge has some nicks and looks like it has
seen some swordplay in the past. Solid ID'd officer's sword
affordably priced. BL4-$1600.00 |

Seven
Pines Recovered 1855 Bayonet and Scabbard
For sale is this spectacular relic
condition bayonet and scabbard picked up shortly after the
Battle of Seven Pines, May 31st to June 1st 1862. The leather
scabbard is mildly cracked in places but stable and supple.
There is a slight seam separation along the length of the
scabbard, but is otherwise sturdy and strong. The frog still
exhibits 2 faint inspector cartouches between the rivets.
A old wired paper label afixed to the frog reads "Bayonet
Scabbard Found after Battle of Seven Pines. May 31-June 1
1862. An even older adhesive label along the scabbard body
provides the same provenance. The bayonet itself exhibits
an evenly pitted gray and brown patina, and is missing the
locking ring. This relic looks to have been displayed at a
G.A.R. hall at one time, and is an exceedingly rare early
battlefield pickup from the bloodiest battle in the east up
to that time. BL1- $375.00 |

Unmarked
Model 1840 Cavalry Saber
This unmarked model 1840
"Old Wristbreaker" was likely an early war Prussian
import. The saber is in overall good condition with some scattrered
gray pitting and service nicks along the blade and very light
rust near the ricasso, which is missing the leather washer.
The guard exhibits an uncleaned bronze patina, and the leather
grip is strong and complete minus a small bit of leather loss
on one side. The scabbard has a scattered plum patina with
typical service dings, and is missing the throat piece. This
is a very nice representative example of the most widely used
saber by both North and South at a very reasonable price.

Horstman Model 1840 Marine Corps NCO Sword
Here is a beautiful 1840
NCO sword made by Horstman. Unlike most Model 1840 NCO swords,
this model made exclusively by Horstman features a clam shell
guard that is turned down on one side, which identifies it
as the Marine Corps model. The sword is in near mint condition
with a mirror bright blade, and has only very light pitting
near the tip and in a few scattered spots. The leather scabbard
is complete and in very good condition. This is a choice NCO
sword and a fine addition to any sword or USMC collection.
