.65
cal. Havoverian/Saxon Bullet
This is a tough to find Hanoverian/Saxon
bullet that was likely fired by the French "Carbine a'
Tige", which were imported from Europe along with a wide
variety of firearms early in the war. The base of the bullet
shows the unique impression of the Thouvenin system, which
consisted of a steel pillar at the breech of the weapon that
expanded the bullet into the rifling when rammed. The bullet
is in fired condition with evident rifling grooves, and has
an even ivory patina overall with one chipped area near the
nose. This is a rare bullet representing the variety of European
firearms used early in the war, particularly in the Western
Theater. M&M 63
BUL3- $80.00 |
